Guidance and Counseling in elementary schools has a strategic role in shaping
students' character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of guidance
and counseling in developing students' character in Putat public elementary
schools, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and develop strategies to
improve the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services. Using a
descriptive qualitative approach, this study collected data through observation,
interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that
guidance and counseling in Putat public elementary schools has been integrated
into the education system, although it still faces obstacles such as limited
professional guidance and counseling personnel, lack of parental understanding,
and external influences such as social media. Supporting factors include support
from the principal, teacher competence, and collaboration with teachers and
parents. Strategies to improve the effectiveness of guidance and counseling
include integration with the curriculum, experience-based learning methods, and
digital technology-based approaches. With improvements in guidance and
counseling services, it is hoped that students' characters can develop optimally
and sustainably.
